Sensor Hub 6.64 Fix Information (New Effort)

Good Morning,

Since the update (I suspect it) I can no longer connect with Bluetooth and my optical heart rate sensor is no longer working.

I have noticed a difference from the other problems like here:

Here

I tried this solution anyway (unfortunately without success):

Fix

My watch seems to connect to the bluetooth somehow but the watch does not show it (The Bluetooth indicator on the watch remains gray.). When I try to connect via the Garmin app on my phone, the app finds the watch but does not connect. The bar moves very little to the left and goes no further.

SW Version : 8.10

GPS Version : 2.50

TSC version : 2.10

Sensor version : 6.60

WHR version : 20.03.31

Connect IQ : 3.1.9

My watch is set to German, but I don't think the language is relevant.

Thanks for Help!

BR,
Marc

  • Did you clear the cache on the phone ? I would cycle bluetooth (off/on) and clear the cache of the connect app (and maybe bluetooth if you have android).

  • Thank you for your reply.
I have reinstalled the app on the phone and also deleted the Bluetooth connection.

I also reset the watch to factory settings. But the bluetooth does not connect properly and the heart rate sensor meaning the LED's no longer light up.The problems have been for 2 weeks. Otherwise, I have not noticed any other problems.

  • Did you try to clear the bluetooth cache as well ? On Android you can select it in apps by including system apps, on iOS I think a phone restart is the only option. Secondly you can try a hard reset (press the button until it shuts off). As you can see in another thread here (https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivoactive-3-3-music/281719/bluetooth-and-all-sensors-are-death) it might take some magic as well to get things moving again.

  • I have an Android phone. I have deleted both chaches the one from the connect app and bluetooth. Then I deleted the bluetooth connection on the phone and did a hard reset on the watch.

Via Connect App I can connect the watch (it requires the 6 digit code) but then it stops again as in the picture when setting up.
Also the green LEDs remain dark so they do not flicker as usual.

  • I also tried with "Garminus Resolvus" ;-) but does not work either.

  • I don't know if that helps you?

  • Maybe a broken wand ;-) Anyway, I have a vivoactive 3 Music so I cannot compare to my watch. I will snoop around a bit but you would need another vivoactive 3 user to compare probably. Did you check with Garmin support already to see if they have the proper wand ?

There is a BT test mode and I only see different parameters and status '0' so it must be ok ;-). Anyway. The last resort you can try is to wipe the cache partition on your phone. You can google how to do that for your brand/model and it feels a bit like magic. It clears the dalvik cache so the apps (including BT) will start fresh, data will be preserved but all cache data will be wiped.

  • Haha yes maybe! :-D
I have not contacted the support yet. I found different and interesting solutions here and thought YES, now I can solve my problem. But unfortunately not yet.
It's really a strange problem. I think I will contact the support.

Hmm, clearing the BT cache is one thing. But why the green LEDs are no longer active I will hardly be able to solve. But thanks for your help and inputs!!!

  • The green leds require some magic, although results are not guaranteed. The trick is to disable heartrate and then hard reset the watch as I understood it.  After the reset the enablement should work. I have seen some users succeeding, but also some failing, so maybe shouting at it will do the trick this time.

  • I have now done this as you described. But unfortunately nothing happens...arrghh... it seems I have a speziall edition with unsolvable bug :-/
