Forerunner 955 Golf App - Shot measurement and Auto Shot Detection is not working after latest software update. I tried to manually measure a shot but that does not work either.

  • yes same issue here from hk. i went to customer support tonight. they dont know what to do. after an hour of cutting me off. i was told i will be notififed via email when they know..... 

  • Hello .  It looks like one of the agents with whom you chatted already has you added to the report we are investigating for this feature.  We'll be posting any updates to this thread, but, since you've been added as an affected user, you'll also get an email when this report is resolved.

  • I have also been experiencing issues with this since the last update.  The watch worked great before this.

  • I am an end-user like you so don't have an official Garmin update. However. I did get a beta update that was pushed out to me this morning that I will be able to test on Saturday and post back to the forum IF the shot measurement is working. Hopefully this includes the fix for this, and also for the RP vertical oscillation issue.

  • What fw version did you update to?

  • I wouldn't get your hopes up.  That's what I'm on.  I just did a quick test in to a net and it didn't detect a swing.  When it's working properly, it would detect the swing.

  • We do not currently have any new information on this report just yet but hope to have something to address this in a future software update.  At this time, we do not have a timeline for the release of this future software update. Thank you for your patience with us while we work to investigate this issue.

  • This is unacceptable. I have been trying to wait patiently for this to be fixed, but this has been going on for months. This is an expensive and new watch. I paid a lot of money and would expect these features to work. I wish Garmin would let users go back to the old software when the watch worked properly before the update. Is that a possibility? I have exclusively worn Garmin watches for about 14 years now and I am extremely disappointed in my current watch because of the software update that resulted in the golf features to not work properly.

    If Garmin cannot fix this issue or allow users to go back to the old software when the golf features worked then how can I go about getting a refund? I never wanted to do this because I think Garmin is typically a great product, but it looks like I may need to try out an apple watch instead.
