Forerunner 955 Golf App - Shot measurement and Auto Shot Detection is not working after latest software update. I tried to manually measure a shot but that does not work either.

  • Why is this taking so long for Garmin to address / fix???????

  • This has to be an issue with the FW.  If I use CT10's, it works as expected.

  • Not working for me either. Notified them not long after the update. Checked in again and no update.

  • This is kind of wild that they aren't really addressing this major feature. What do we do to get Garmin's attention? Do we start posting / complaining on their social media channels? A big reason why I purchased this watch was for the functionality of golf shot measurement in conjunction w/ their traditional features. 

  • I’m not sure. I was told it was escalated but no time frame on response. Yea I loved that feature. I run and play golf and that’s about it so this watch was perfect. Played yesterday and wished I would have had that feature because it puts your shots on the map in garmin golf app. Hopefully it’s resolved soon but it doesn’t look like it’s addressed in the new beta version release. I asked if there was a way to go back to original software (downgrade software) and was told no. 

  • I'm in the exact same boat.... run and play golf. And the shot distance measuring feature has been surprisingly beneficial w/ golf - being able to consistently see how far you are hitting your tee shot. 

  • I did a lot of research when choosing this watch. As an avid runner AND golfer I thought this would be perfect. I loved it when the golf functionality worked. I’m frustrated that this problem has still not been fixed and there is no way to revert back to the previous version of the software.

    It sounds like there are many frustrated customers, and it is unfortunate that this problem has been ongoing since around Labor Day I believe. Has Garmin given anyone a positive or helpful update regarding this major issue?

  • I am also like the two of you: Running and golf are two of my passions. I have the golf distance issue that stopped working AND the stride length issue with the Running Pod. On the running stride length issue, I was told that they were looking at the issue, and I signed up for the Beta program so I could get latest updates.......still not fixed totally. On the golf distance issue I was told that this may take longer before they start working on it because the volume of people reporting the golf issue is less than the volume reporting the stride length issue. I have had two beta updates load on my watch, played golf yesterday and still not able to record distance.
