Battery life

Looking into the FIT files generated during activities and I'm seeing some worrying data

Runs with chest strap and GPS + Glonass are running at 2% per thirty minutes

Runs with OHR and Music are running at 7% per thirty minutes

Giving a battery life of 18 hours and 7 hours respectively - compared to 36 and 10 as advertised.

Are others seeing this?

my watch lasts no longer than 3 days. what is happening? it should nearly be able to do 1,5 days in acitivities.

I have some 10+ sensors paired. could it be that the watch is constantly searching for them at full power?

We're you listening to music or rendering maps continually during those 7hrs of riding?

The Fenix 5 Plus used to eat it's charge at a rapid rate if you left the map display running during an activity.

Also, do you have the Sp02 sensor running continuously?

I've been using the watch for 2 weeks, battery lasts 3 days. Not listening to music, PulseOx turned off, battery drains 1,3% per hour. Several soft resets, hard resets, latest beta software is downloaded, no improvements. I contacted Garmin, they suggested to return the watch to retailer, but no replacement available yet. So I'm waiting...

The new beta gives me a huge improvement on battery use. Both during activities and when just a watch / smart watch. Coupled with back light options after sunset, I'm now very happy with the battery. Shame about the gps accuracy...

How did you get backlight setting for after sunset only? I don't see that in any of my menus.

Does Livetrack impact battery life? I know +Music does so I would assume that Livetrack would as well considering there is a constantly live Bluetooth connection needed. I just haven't seen that listed as an impact anywhere officially.

My battery life improved dramatically when I turned "Wi-Fi Auto upload" off. Now 0.18%/hr with activity tracking and bluetooth on. Software 2.40. But I wish I could turn off the flashing green HR leds - the wrist heart rate monitor is "off" - I wonder how much power the flashing leds use. I really don't care about the on-wrist signal for the wallet :)

I tried this, unfortunately it made no difference for me at all.
