Distance not showing

Did you record your walk as an activity? 

• Select activity type
• Press start (green arrow appears).
• When finished press stop (red square appears)
• Select save

Yeah, I did, I tried resetting watch, back to factory resets, and it seems to have done the trick. Thankyou for your reply

A noob here. I did a walk and saved it. How do I get to see the exact distance I did on the watch itself? I found steps and a chart display of distance in the watch but it is approximate only. 

Assuming you recorded an activity as mentioned above, I would typically use the History widget or the Last Activity widget.

History - Displays your activity history and a graph of your recorded activities.

Last Activity - Displays a brief summary of your last recorded activity, such as your last run, last ride, or last swim

OK, thanks for replying; that's what I was looking at. Just that apart from the steps, which are exact, everything else is just a rough showing, not like the specific data readout that the watch was showing when I pressed Stop. 
I guess that's just how it works in the history part for walks. 

For more details I would use the Garmin Connect Mobile app and/or Garmin Connect Web.

Ok so I doesn't acknowledge distance without recording activity like walk/distance? My previous watch could tell overall kilometers a day. I don't like it. I'm gonna have to measure length my stride and multiple it by numer of steps. Oh dear.
