16.17 - Adds map types and map data field options.

Software version 16.17 for the Forerunner 255 Series is now available and is at 50% Phased Rollout.

Change Log:
Adds map types and map data field options.

Where do I find these? I do not see any options for split screen or perimeter data fields.

    Change the layout on the map data screen. You can increase the number of data fields being displayed over the map.

    Activities & Apps > Choose activity profile, such as run > Run Settings > Data Screens > scroll to the map > select Layout > arrow up/down to select the number of fields > data fields to choose data for field.

    Thanks. But that only adds 2 normal data fields that covers the bottom half of the screen. Was that not always there?

    What about new map types?

    This is the update the Fenix received, which allows adding between 3 and 6 data fields.

    Yeah I'm on fw 15.19, so no update yet, but I can add one or two data fields under the map, so that's not a new feature.

    Right, I posted what I can see on my Epix (Gen 2), which is 0 to 3 data fields or 6 perimeter data fields.

    After playing around with the settings, I’m guessing the new map types is the Orientation.

    Settings > Map > Orientation > Select Track Up or North Up

    Nope, that is present in fw 15.19 as well.

    Maybe there is nothing new for the 255, and they they just copied and pasted from the 955 which in fact has maps.

    Are they copying and pasting incorrectly since the start of the v16 betas? Also, check the related posts. 265, 955 and 965 users are also complaining that they did not get the perimeter data field options. They really need to use better wording in their changelogs.

    The Fenix team seems to be much at changelogs? Example below:
