Updated yesterday via USB and garmin express and since then, it is randomly restarting after some notifications, already happened 4 times since last night. Anyone else?

I think this has less to do with the notification and type and more of the act of sending something to the watch causing it to reboot.  I have experienced many gaps in my HR data for instance, as soon as I get any type of notification while this happening the watch reboots.  Happens with any type of notification.

  • Lost another hour of data this morning and a mile walk...

  • I had also 3-4 reboots today. Yay! Does Garmin have any testers there?

  • Lost about 8 hours of data today due to this big bug (my watch was separated from my phone for the work day, when they got back together a notification reset my watch before it could synch - POOF!)

  • That I don't know but they couldn't have enough testers. This bug and the buttons are huge problems of not enough testings. The buttons probably lack of quality control at manufactory.

    Phone - Nexus 6p, Android 8.1.0

Watch is forerunner 245 non music.  Have a custom watch face (pip boy ish I think).  I don't know if it is tied to notifications, could just be a failure while syncing.  Feel free to reach out if you want more details about watch setup.

  • Good morning. Just lost a complete nights worth of data!  What the hell Garmin?!

  • My girlfriends 245 also started to reboot when receiving notifications after installing version 2.70 of the firmware.  Its connected to an iPhone 7 with the latest iOS.

We downgraded the watch to 2.60 and it worked fine again and didn't reboot or lose any data.

the firmware automatically upgraded again to 2.70 this morning at 8am.  We have left notifications disabled and no reboots so far but a little scared to re-enable them

  • I just received a small update and installed it. The software version is still showing 2.70, but could this be a hot fix for the issues we've all been having?
