Garmin HRM-Dual not working after less that 1 year. Should i change the battery? The spec states battery should last about 2-3 years. Any advice?

    yes

  • mine stopped working after 1 month.

I tried to replace battery, downgrade firmware on Fenix 6X to 9.00 (running beta 9.96, tried also 9.97).

After I take out battery and put it back, it finds the sensor, shows also "connected" initially, but the moment you start activity, it will not be found anymore, is in "searching"mode.

When I remove it from sensors and try to find it again, it will not be found anymore.

    Anyone has/had the same?

    thanks

    T.

  • yea I have the same problem. Sent it back under warranty, get a 'new?' one.... same problem

  • How did that end ?'

  • yeah, i'm curious too whenever this problem was resolved

  • We recommend replacing the batteries & performing a reverse polarity on your Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) by following the steps below.

    Please follow the steps below to perform a Reverse Polarity on your Sensor / HRM – this will reset the module and allow connection with your head unit;

    • Take the battery out, and flip it over and insert it back into the  HRM to reverse the polarity
    • Hold it in there for 5 - 10 seconds
    • This will reset the HRM strap
    • Then remove the old battery and install the new battery properly.
    • Ensure the module is fixed to the strap correctly. (only applicable to HRM’s with removable module)
    • If using a HRM, wet the electrodes on the strap & position it on your body securely as per the user manual instructs.
    • Perform 5-10 start jumps to get your heart rate up & commence the pairing process.

You may be required to follow the pairing steps for each sensor after battery replacement as per user manual instruction.

  • Hi, this worked for me.  I have been trying everything (it seemed) for a week and this worked.  Cheers.

  • Same exact problem. Then, this reverse polarization do hicky process worked. Kind of a joke that I had to do this after maybe 20 rides with it though. Prob have to do it every couple weeks.

  • Brilliant.  Nearly identical situation to the comment above.  Had been trying many different things for about a week after first attempting to change the battery.  No Garmin device would recognize the HRM.  The reverse polarity reset did the trick!

  • Great. It frustrated the hell out of me and I smashed it with a hammer and threw it in the bin. The time I have lost with this made it I eventually couldn't do my workout.
What a waste for that kind of money.
