Venu 4 again frozen and inaccurate heart rate

My watch froze again. Now after 38 minutes of a runnining workout. Before it did it was showing an inaccurate heart rate (constantly around 150 when I was running and then 170 when I took a walking break).

Is there a solution to this?

These are basic functions which should work flawlessly!

After many years with Garmin I am considering to return my watch and give a competitor an opportunity.

Please fix this asap.

    The question I was asked was:

    "Are you using the music function during the activity as well?"

    Yes, I was using Spotify.

    In addition to this I have also noticed the following.

    1) The watch got stuck again yesterday during an exercise. I was also playing music at that time.


    2) The the session I was exercising - which was suggested by the Garmin Fitness Coach - does not appear in the Garmin Fitness Coach anymore as a "checked" activity.

    It is "only" listed as a "completed activity" - missing a green checkmark. It is not visible with a checkmark in the weekly list widget.

    It seems to have been properly recorded but seems to have lost any associativity to the garmin coach.

    3) The Garmin Coach on the watch stopped listing suggested activities. It was just empty for future days. A reboot of the watch solved it. The activities were however always listed in the phone app.

  • hello, Ive returned my first venu 4 and set up a second and im still getting the issue where during an activity it will freeze once, sometimes multiple times. i am using the phone free music on spotify when it happens

  • Zatím bez problému. Používám sluchátka iPod 2 se Spotify. Sluchátka měla firmware neaktulizovaný už několik let. Sluchátka jsem aktualizovala na současnou verzi. Od té doby hodinky fungují při aktivitě už správně. Byla jsem běhat už 4x a žádný problém.

  • Hi there - came here to say exact same thing. Just got the watch. At this price point, crazy that the software is crashing like this. I'm on 14.12. 

    In the last 7 runs, it's crashed ~3 times. I listen without a phone and download Spotify podcasts for my runs. I have to hold down the round button and reset it. Luckily my progress is saved and I can resume. But I do notice the podcast goes back to the beginning of the episode even if I was about 30 minutes into my run/listen. 

    In addition to it freezing, Garmin Coach doesn't update all the time on my watch to my phone. I was looking for today's workout and it say look at your mobile app (why defeats the purpose of screen on watch). I confirm it's connected via the app. I've had to reset the watch and then when it restarts it's all synced up. 

    I'm on the verge of returning it given the high cost. Want to love it, but the crashes are pretty frustrating, especially given the price point.
