How does it differ from something like a higher-end Edge 1040? Well, there’s a lot of differences (far more than I list below…
Take it; it's perfect for bike touring/bikepacking. I've just completed a 2100km trip to the Baltic Sea, and EE2 was my best companion throughout.
I love my EE2! I only use it for tours etc and don't require all the detailed statistics... Battery life is great too! Very easy to use as well... also, the EE2 can generate roundtrips based on the distance…
I don't think there is E3 on the way anytime soon.
Your question is difficult to answer....but in general, I find it hard to recommend EE2.
I can explain : I wanna a gps for my trips abroad, I lake a lot of Bikepacking and bike Touring outside of my country.
I need a gps computer can be able to make a route on fly without smartphone internet connection, like I said...outside of my country and when I'm arrive home I no want surprises on communication bill at the final of the month.
I no need training stats and the only sensor I use on wahoo bolt is the speed sensor.
I like the wahoo, the only problem is I need to make all the routes before I start the route, and the majority of the hotels, hostels. campsites I cannot sync a route with komoot.
another feature I see very useful for me on Garmin is the points of interest on map, on wahoo I no have.
because all this I think on this model, have everything I need, if everything working I'm sorted .
many thanks for the feedback.
EE2 could work for that.
I have never created a route on the device itself. I use my favorite phone app with offline maps, create a route, export gpx and send it via garmin companion to EE2. That worked for me.
ok, I'm go waiting into the final of July, if no have any news from a new EE3 ...I buy this one.
I cannot find any clarify video on youtube show a person make a route on this device without acess to internet.
many thanks for the feedback.
No, support is very lazy and device is very bugged.
well...in this case witch Garmin gps computer is less bugged and have a good support ?
The EE series is much worse supported than the entire x40/x50 series.
I like the EE2 and use it regularly for long-distance trips. Battery life is great, display good, user-interface needs some getting used to. I have not encountered any bugs or stability problems, it never lets me down. Offline navigation is very reliable: But do some test rides before your trip, because it offers many options for navigation and you need to be sure which one best suits your needs. Alternatively - that's what I do most of the time: Calculate the route with Komoot on your phone when you have internet (e.g. hotel) and transfer it to your EE2, it works well. During your ride, you won't need any connection. For bikepacking it may well be the best device on the market.
That's my way of working too. I totally agree!
