Two month user of Edge 530 with speed sensor 2, cadence, and dual HRM sensors. Installation was fine, first ride I had numerous sensor dropouts. After looking at the forum I switched all communication to ANT+ and have not had any sensor dropouts since. I have noticed that my indicated speed fluctuates dramatically (eg. when riding consistently at about 18-20mph I see values such as 12, 24, 6, 20, 12, 22, 28) to the point I have no idea what is going on. After reading the forums it seemed like the most frequent place this issue occurred was on concrete roads (old and new, probably similar amounts of rebar) but not so much on asphalt roads.
Today on a group ride I started recording too long before we actually started so my cadence sensor wasn't detected and I couldn't stop to rescan. This ride was done without the cadence sensor but everything else was the same on the bike, chain, hub, route, other riders. The location is the outskirts of Houston, Tx. Imagine my surprise when we got on some of the same concrete roads that I have had to guess my speed and the indicated speed now looked very appropriate as we accelerated from stop lights up to 23mph then held that speed for several miles. The difference was so dramatic and lasted for the whole ride.
Is there a conflict between the speed 2 hub mounted sensor and the cadence sensor?
