16.13 Sensor issue Garmin Edge 1040 Solar still present

in my case (1040+ Bontrager light set/garmin speed sensor/Dual PM) only lights regulary are disconnecting but after notification about breakdown they still working and I can manage them from IQ/Data field...very strange

I am having a sensor issue and wonder if this is all related.  I am trying to add a new sensor to my 1040 solar unit.  The unit has FW 16.13 and I am trying to add a shimano Di unit.  The unit is detected and I select it for installation.  After I hit ok, the unit restarts it self and the process is never completed.  The unit has the list of sensors as it was before starting this process.

I have restarted the unit and attempted this again, and get the same results.

Yes, all sensors (speed, power, cadence, HR) drop at once and you have to stop safely, stop the activity, restart the device, start again. And again, and again. Terrible!!! Together with the gradient delay (which is kind of useless this way) it makes the experience of a brand new top end computer just kind of "grrrrr"".

For a few days I thought I was rid of the connection problem... but no... today it came back. However, was able to pair the fenix (previously ANT+) via BLE without having to turn off the 1040. Then I noticed that the fenix shows the connection with a text. I had never seen that before. Has anyone noticed this and can confirm it as an innovation?
Btw: Are changes in the sensors possibly the problem?

edge 1040/17.21. Now another problem - continuously disconnect and error notification. Dismiss notification -> few seconds and new error -> dismiss -> .... -> error. During workout it's terrible. Switched off this sensors in Garmin. Top device has become just a cheap Chinese craft. Garmin - shame on you

Today I went out for a ride, all sensors have been connected. After 3mins of riding my edge 1040 has lost every sensor!!! I couldn't connect any sensor. Only a reboot could help to restore all connections. I'm using only Garmin sensors.

now I have this problem every time I use my 1040 Solar, several times each day in very different setups - even when only conneting one device (Garmin's HR pro). all firmwares 16.11 to 17.23B

Same. Have to shut down the device and start up every time. no issue before this 16.13 firmware.
