Garmin will have a blackout until a certain date and time.  Doesnt matter what country you are in.  It will not release until it hits the correct time in the correct timezone.

So you will have to wait for us simple folk to catch up to you oh great and magnificent one!  ;)

That would require magic, unfortunately.

The solar is possible because the device itself requires  very little power.  It might be that the solar charging is more of a life extender.

You don’t say what devices but lights would require a much, much larger panel. 

Already people complaining (at least 3) that they can't yet register their 1040 !

I was just thinking that if the device was fully charged you could hook up something to it and it would charge it.  There are backup batteries with panels on them for solar charging but they do not have a draw!!!!
