any insight on maybe a new 1040 or whatever release date?

Anybody know anything on when a new Flagship Edge is coming out?

    Yes - I've just come in from a ride with an iPhone on a Quadlock on my handlebars on a sunny day. Works great.

    More important for me is that the screen polarization is oriented such that it passes polarized sunglasses with zero attenuation, and not with 99% attenuation.
    Also a missed opportunity if it gets circular polarisers and results in 50% attenuation, as very few people would try using this in landscape mode.

    And would be really annoying it polarized at 45deg, as the attenuation would change with head position.

    It will have much less bezel than the 1030 plus while keeping the readable screen the same size.Quite a lot attention has been given to its body to screen ratio and expect a nicer look. Overall all lighter package with improved battery capacity.BicyclistGrinning

    I rather they spent their efforts on releasing something that actually works the way it's supposed to...

    That is great news but lighter body and improved battery capacity looks contradictory.

    And I hope "keeping the readable screen the same size" doesn't mean the same display panel. The current panel color is washed out when compared to 530/830...

    Sorry but I will have to disagree on battery dynamics :) .considering the specific energy of a li-ion cell it is possible. Do note cell housing matters here.

    So is there any actual information about this yet? I tried reading through the thread, but there is so much off topic stuff, and I also did a Google search, and the only site I can find seems to be 5KRunner and it is an article from last summer about possible leaks. I really am curious. I love my Edge 1000, and never bothered to upgrade to the 1030 or 1030 Plus, but if a new one is coming out this year, I may consider it.

    1040 went through fcc approval already. Someone posted the link above. You can open that link, get the fcc Id and look at fcc reports.

    The FCC doesn't give much information. The only clear thing is a USB-C port, otherwise... no idea

    So is there a usual timeline from when a product has gone through FCC Approval and when it launches? Or is that just unknown?
