Why do I always think about and have such fond memories of my old Edge 800. It worked well and followed my routes (courses) giving me the prompts I put in myself, not ones imagined by the bike computer.

I hope not - and I don‘t think it is a good idea.
OLED displays are fine in darkness or indoor but in bright sunlight they are too dark and eat too much juice.
(would you be happy with an iPhone on your handlebar in bright sunlight?)
