• RE: Strange data for Speed and Distance in the .FIT files on my Fenix 6X Pro Solar

Each GPS point has a probable error of up to 5 meters - sometimes off to the side, and sometimes in front or behind you. So if you just add the raw distance between each point, you will get an overestimation of distance. And the in front/behind issue…

  • RE: Distance travelled InReach Explorer vs Forerunner 945

The straight out and back case was not what I was referring to. That should not report zero. It should accurately report a total of twice the "out" distance (since the "back" distance is equal to the "out" distance).

    The…

  • RE: GPS distance running way off (Latest software installed)

    I do parkrun regularly.

My regular parkrun course has lots of tree cover and has many 90° bends in quick succession.

That always measured about 20% short on my vivoactive3, depending on conditions. With the 955 it usually measures about 10% long.

Trip distance vs share page distance vs other means of measuring

Tom and Bob are quite right - the distances displayed on various devices will always disagree, sometimes by large amounts. And the reason that Bob gave is correct. For example, I went for…
  • RE: Improved distance and pace using HRM-Pro Plus?

I'm facing the same problem. I did serveral tests and distance and pace was only measured "correctly" if my watch was in range, out of range there were no data. Most likely you were in range with your watch for a short time of your training, so 100-250m…

Lost the long version of this due to the forum problem, but in short, if both watches are on the same account, with TrueUp, they may only be the same right after they both sync. I have two on the same account, but only wear one at a time BTW, as I don…
  • Garmin Speed/Cadence sensors (non-magnet) showing inaccurate distance

    Hello All,

    I have recently got this Garmin speed/cadence sensor (non-magnetic type) - https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/146897.

    Problem I see:
I see that the Garmin speed sensor is not showing accurate distance. It always shows around 700m - 750m for an…
  • RE: Fenix 7 Pool Swim is Giving No Distance

I am happy to report that for the past two days, my Fenix 7X SS recorded my daily 1000-meter swim exactly correctly.  Ten 100-meter intervals in a 25-meter pool.  Each interval was four 25-meter lengths (100 meters).  Ten intervals for 1000-meter swim with…

  • After Latest Update Speed and Distance Tracking During Activity Suddenly Stops

Has anyone else had this issue recently?  I noted now during two runs that part way in the distance stops counting and there's no speed data.  Everything else records.  The first time this happened, I selected "resume later" and then started the run…

  • RE: I would like a Multisport Distance data field

There's a data field which does this, but it's kind of hacky. Since each leg of a multisport activity is seen as a separate activity (and app execution instance) by a CIQ datafield, and there's no multisport stats available to CIQ apps, the datafield…
