That being said I can also just say what others are saying... based on the details that trux pointed out in your picture that the watch had a hard hit on the bottom while not being worn from multiple marks. You can post more closeups maybe if you do want to convince us, but I guess that's besides the point indeed.

I'm really sorry that you have your watch damaged either way. If you're sure it is a manufacturing problem, not something you or a previous owner caused, your best bet is probably look up the consumer protection rules in your country, make a small claims court case, or something similar. Maybe, as somebody pointed out, an independent consumer lab's favorable test might convince Garmin to replace it for you. Or you have a good data point for your claim. Good luck to having your watch fixed!

Without going so far as to talk about an impact, it still seems that something a bit violent happened and that we can clearly see something that looks like... an impact point.

It appears that not just the HR sensor sustained an impact, but the metal surrounding the sensor has also been damaged (click on the image for a larger image):

Nope, that's still part of the resin, metal sustained nothing. You know why? Because there was no impact.

Therein lies the problem - I came here for advice as to how I can prove that this wasn't impact, since it wasn't - and everyone's telling me how it's impact.

Why is it difficult for human beings to read and understand the question, context and what I require. If they think I'm lying or faking it, they're welcome to scroll past - but they feel the need to come and tell me, in no uncertain terms, that I'm lying because they're narcissists.

I'll take your advice and pursue consumer protection authorities, thanks for giving actual advice.

Yes, it's brand new and sealed, you're right it has impact marks after I drove over it with my car right before I threw it against a wall.

I said "Anything useful would be highly appreciated" in my post, so I'm curious as to why you decided to give me the most useless comment you could think of.

Did the same thing to my Fenix 7 after dropping it onto the deck of a boat. Similar impact point to yours as well. They pretty fragile on the underside which is unfortunate. Garmin Support gave me a great deal on a replacement however.

The new sensor covers are made from glass, hence aren't affected. They do seem to be more prone to cracking through impact though.
