Garmin fenix 8 crashes on starting activity

Since today, Yesterday was fine.

My watch crashes when going to the activity screen. Blue triangle and restart.

Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. Our engineers have identified an issue that may crashing/rebooting when navigating or using the map. They are anticipating a fix for this to be introduced…

It is a problem with a faulty GPE file. Fenix/Epix series can be fixed without hard reset. - Connect the watch to the computer - Hard power down the watch by holding the light/power key for ~30 seconds…

Yes. The same happens here. I’ve tried to do a soft reset, but now my watch is stuck in a loading maps loop where after the maps are loaded, it says ‘checking maps’ and then powers off to a blue triangle…

Same issue with me. Factory resets don't work. There is no way to get out of the loop / reboot cycle.

Exactly the same as me. No resets work. I can turn it off, but for the factory reset I don't hear any of the beeps, and it just returns to the blue triangle after the maps checking/loading message.

Same issue, stuck in a constant loop where it crashes after trying to check maps watch is only 6 days old. Lots of money for something that's unusable. Pc won't recognise it either as it can't power on.

Yeah, same here, fenix 8 turning off when I try to start an activity. Looks like a virus in the update that must have happened last night. Anyone fixed this?
