  • Agreed that I am not really looking forward to give Garmin another 1k of earth credits for my next watch, however, with Garmin it is not just about the watch but about the platform and it is really hard to find a competitor here who integrates with all my third-party services and has all the watch features I want/need.

  • Yes, I know. I understand that for many people, Garmin has no alternative, due to its extensive "ecosystem".

But there is also a large group of people who do not need so many metrics and use, for example, only the watch for basic activities such as walking or running, and these people may look for cheaper alternatives in the future, since Garmin's flagship watch for €1,000 restarts with the simplest use. You spend a lot of money and the watch has problems like some cheap fake.

This is really bad advertising for the company and I am surprised that Garmin does nothing about it and the problem is only getting worse.

I would strongly encourage those folks who are looking for a cheaper alternative to do just that! Why stick with Garmin and waste a lot of time complaining?  Buy the cheaper alternative and get on with life.

I would argue that all the over the top rhetoric about "problems" that only affect a small group of users does more harm to Garmin than the few who feel their Garmin watch is unfit for their use cases - maybe that's why they complain...

Just my opinion, of course.  Feel free to continue to ignore it.

  • Since after all these bugs, new one being introduced, old ones being ignored, and ones reported in beta versions being ignored as well, and this ocurring over and over again, you still disregard obvious issues and have to defend Garmin with such worn out excuse as in this post, I suggest you keep doing what you do the best - which is downvoting posts of people speaking fact without offering solution to problems at hand.

  • Experience of many people should be dismissed automatically just because you said there are no problems? That may make sense to you, but not to me.

  • I really don't understand your point of view! I like Garmin in many ways compared to my previous brand and now that I am using it I have found several problems and regressions in these months. I am complaining because I want Garmin to fix them once and for all and once again you are wrong thinking that I and others only complain about phantom problems. eg Why on earth would anyone think that if the automatic connection is not working anymore I am doing wrong in using my watch when all I have done is update it (and if I revert to previous fw it works again!)?

  • Well, just take a look at the main page, and you’ll see post after post of people complaining about the same issues. And it’s not just here—I’ve seen similar discussions on Reddit as well. I really like my watch, but denying reality doesn’t make it disappear: Garmin has a problem with software stability and its update policy.

By the way, your response here only confirms what I suspect Garmin thinks of this forum—a playground for people to argue, rather than a place where concerns are taken seriously. That’s exactly how it feels when moderators simply close and reopen threads without providing any real answers to anybody. It's sad.

  • Having come from a foreunner 410 to a Fenix 3 to a Fenix 6 then a Fenix 7x pro. The 7x is my last ever Garmin purchase. I'd owned it for 3 months before it started to lose functionality compared with older watche. My next purchase will be Coros. Bye Garmin thanks for the lack of support.
