  • s it possible to escalate this situation for Garmin Product Manager reply

Unfortunately we do not have an escalation process for requesting additional feature updates. However, this is the purpose of the Garmin Ideas site. You can submit recommended changes and ideas, for Garmin to review.

    Garmin Ideas

  • There is no point in trying to change the situation; everything is clear with this company. Personally, after the Fenix 7 Pro, I am switching to Apple Watch , these slow maps are just infuriating. The last straw was the cancellation of map themes, it is simply unusable.

  • Thanks for taking the time, to wrote this reply, but we need a real position from Garmin, it is not possible to leave this series on the service lane.

And Forerunner are lower end device compared to Fenix 7 / Epix 2 and always receive new features.

This marketing strategy is not undertstable.

    ---

This is the same issue like ECG support in some countries announced recently (Europe, etc.).

When Garmin do the necessary for Fenix 8, 5 months after product launch and nothing for Fenix 7 Pro/ Epix 2 Pro after 18 months !

    • Epix Pro 51 is always sold 1050€ on your website
  • but we need a real position from Garmin

In my opinion, there is only one situation in which Garmin issues a statement: the topic must become media-worthy.

    1. News portals don't care (they post information about new features in the Fenix 8)

    2. YouTubers probably don't care either, because they get the latest watches from Garmin.

    3. Regular users don't follow the details of changelogs and they don't even care as long as the watch works fine.

It seems to me that the only thing we can do is... create a thread - short but meaningful - on Reddit and upvote it in droves (a clickbait title will also be useful because it can attract people's attention). I've seen some YouTubers post screenshots from Reddit threads in their videos. Maybe that's an idea?

Unfortunately, the current boot loop scandal will effectively overshadow such a thread

  • What a nice example of customer waiting for consideration from Garmin on Reddit, after 1hour already 130 UpVote !!!

    any feedback please ?

  • I'm also a F7 Pro owner and I'm quite disappointed as well. I got an official response from the NLs support team that ECG will not be release anytime soon.

I know I can spoof my location but that's no the point. Bought the watch in 2024 and is already outdated, just to force everyone to buy the 8 series.

    Another +10y customer leaving

  • 8 hours later, 1300 UpVote, Garmin are you listening to your customers ?

  • You have to put some funny image to get noticed. They straight away notice your postJoy

  • The Fenix 8 generation seems to have shifted to a forerunner based software, that may explain why the forerunner lineup is getting more updates in the trail of the F8 development and the F7 series is not?

That is not a good news for us F7 owners, but that could explain the gap.

About the ECG in Europe, maybe they are trying to get money from the early adopters for a couple months and we'll get it later on the F7 pro? I don't need that feature, but by principle if the hardware is capable, the software is ready, and they have the authorization, they must release that feature. Otherwise it is a negative message that they are actively retaining features on a less than 2 years old premium watch.

  • The Fenix 8 generation seems to have shifted to a forerunner based software

I moved from Fenix 7 Solar Sapphire to a Forerunner 955 because I wanted a better MIP screen and a longer vibrate alert on incoming calls. I expected the software to be exactly the same, maybe some minor UI differences.

But it turned out that on the Forerunner, stock watchfaces are very limited, the temperature glance works differently when you use a Tempe, the beta program lacks a rollback to the previous version and has no Device Usage glance, there are no eventlogs, no odometer. These are not important differences in daily use. But they do give me the feeling that this is a newer branch that has fundamental differences. Which may make porting new features over to an older platform more work, doesn't have to be, but often is.
