Ok, now it's official but looks like Fenix is missing hardware to support it

Even if you had all the fuctions, you'd still find a reason to complain.
What popped up on your phone? The ECG option or just the stupid news story? Because if it's the news story, I've been seeing this stuff for almost a year now...
Trust me, I'm in this business, just different brand. I know the nitty gritty details we cannot share with customers, just as Garmin cannot share with us (I'm a customer for Garmin, so don't know such…
this morning's update removes the ECG field
Yup, same here. iOS only, didn't appear in the Android app for me so far (or didn't spot it before they removed it). On iOS it was there until the latest app update this morning. I wouldn't be myself if I wouldn't document all steps with screenshots, as I do with other wearables for work purposes :) So I also took screens of the above listed item in health stats and 2fa setup and finally no ECG data. I see no point in pasting them all here, but if anyone is interested, let me know. I guess we'll need to wait and see if we'll get some ECG readings from the current sensors or it's just a preludium for the next gen sensor to be able to dive into ECG.
The thing is that Fenix has an optical sensor (PPG) which is not really meant to be a reliable source of ECG data (it's great for HRV though). Proper ECG uses electrodes, not a light-based optical sensor. Anyways we have wearables that provide some level of 'ECG' readings without electrodes, so maybe Garmin will also follow.
While writing this, I've bumped onto this article about Garmin getting an FDA approval for ECG. It might explain the testing in place and why for a moment even the public app might have accidentally reveal the new feature that is about to arrive. Let's see if still with the current generation products or not.
So it won't come to the Fenix 7 family. Well, no biggy for me.
Not quite yet: is there a way to turn off 2FA?
It said one it's added, you cannot remove it.
The Elevate HR sensor is terrible, so we're missing nothing.
