Probably extra security/confidentiality for personal health information as part of FDA clearance.

In addition, under Settings, there's a "UDI for Medical Device Software" which I haven't seen before and assume is a Unique Device Identifier for the EKG. In the past, only functions available on a watch would show up in GCM.

Not anymore. Disappeared in today's GCM update to Version 4.62.3.

I'm sure it will be back when supporting watch software is released.
