Fenix 7 Pool Swim is Giving No Distance

Fenix 7 swimming. Has anyone else had any issues with pool swimming with the fenix 7? I just swam for 40 mins and I logged hr OK but no distance! Pool length was set to 25m.

On default settings I think.

    Glad it worked for you. I hope update would fix all issues. I just don't think after paying tfat money we should be struggling at all and look for ways around the problems Shrug tone3‍♂️

    I agree, nearly £800 for a watch that doesn't work properly. Garmin have acknowledged the issue and said they are working on it, so hopefully an update soon to fix it. I am going for my second swim tomorrow, so I will let you all know how it goes

    I did the same this morning and it didn't work until I stopped it and then restarted it again. (mid swim)

    Same here, it's not a biggy for now although I am tempted to investigate further (why do we run into bugs when not restarting the watch? Is it a function of a privous activity being recorded or does it depend on the uptime of the watch?) but as Garmin - Chris indicated: The engineers are on it and things will eventually get fixed. If that will be recorded as the major bug of the initial Fenix 7 release I'd be happy.

    Yes. My fenix 7 doesn’t record distance on pool swims. Forerunner 935 works perfectly

    Same for me. 

    No distance no pool count. HR was too low, about 60...

    Had to restart Watch, that was all conrrect, including hr... So i feel it like some kind of Bug.

    Had been working fine for me but then yesterday it didn’t count distance and HR was far too low. For last 20 minutes of swim the HR jumped up to the correct range (from 90 to 130bpm) but still no distance logged. On latest update.

    Hi guys,

    here are the results of my Fenix 7X 7.24 Swim test yesterday ("auto rest" function is turned off for all these swimming test activities):

     

    1st swim - without restarting the watch before this activity - malfunction of length and distance records, only time and heart rate are recorded - link activity Garmin Connect

     

    2nd swim – restart watch then swim activity – all was working well, records length and distance and others + I used manual lap button for rests which was working well too – link Garmin Connect

     

    3rd swim - without restarting the watch before this activity - malfunction of length and distance records, only time and heart rate are recorded – link activity Garmin Connect

    hope it can helps for you until Garmin develop/provide fix update
