BlueTooth keeps disconnecting from phone

This started happening a month or so ago. The Fenix keeps getting disconnected from my Android phone (Garmin Connect app). And it won't reconnect unless i reboot the phone (definitely a hassle!). On the home screen of Connect i hit the "refresh" little circle with arrows. The arrows circulate for maybe ~5 seconds then the arrows stop circulating. No error message. Yet, Sync has not occurred. When i go to "Devices" it shows the Fenix as connected. On the devices screen there is also a Sync button (little arrows). Pressing it, the arrows circulate for longer, maybe ~15 seconds, then they stop circulating. Again, no error messages but no sync has occurred. And the screen still shows the Fenix as "connected". Quitting Garmin Connect (using the task manager, dragging it off), and then restarting Connect also does not improve the situation.

As soon as i reboot the phone, all is well. The phone automatically reconnects to the Fenix, sync occurs without me even pressing the Sync button. But it seems to only last a few days, then the above situation repeats.  It's quite a hassle!

Again, this just started happening about a month ago. Previously it all worked well.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

  • Same problem.

Chat tech support sucked and did not offer a solution.

I am trying this fix from a year ago today.

    1. Ensure the phone OS is on the latest version
    2. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    3. Clear the phone cache and history
    4. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    5. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
    6. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    7. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)

When pairing again, be sure to pair through the app.
