Anyone have USB issues with 28.00 update? Windows says device malfunction.

I had to reinstall my phone and all my apps few weeks ago, including garmin stuff. Few days later my watch did an unprompted update without my validation to 28.00. I have asked if the downgrade would be available, and i got a response with the download link, Thank you. However as it seems right now after the udate, i cannot connect my fenix 6 pro solar watch to any of my computers.Is there any way to push the downgrade back to it from bluetooth, or from a phone? I cannot even copy anything onto it anymore. Windows 11 chimes of new device than it tells me that is unrecognised and there is an issue with the device. I did uploaded some MP3 on the same day that the update happened, and before you ask, I did not have garmin express installed on any of my laptops or computers. So the update did not came from garmin express. Also my watch was using 27.00 fw at the time, with auto update disabled, wifi/bluetooth disabled, and garmin programs also disabled on my phone. It must have dowloaded the update during garmin connect bluetooth setup process. Really diststeful as i did not want to change watch right now. R.I.P Fenix 6 Pro Solar Titanium. It is a shame that an over £800 watch only lasts 6 years. I will probably keep the titanium strap but not getting another garmin device ever.

    • Power off the watch
    • Keep the "Down" button pressed
    • Press the Power button while keeping the "Down" button pressed
    • When you see the blue triangle release the "Down" button

    The watch should now be in service mode and you could try to connect it to the PC

    To exit service mode hold the power button pressed until the watch powers off

    Think i will stay away from garmin, this is already my second fenix 6 series. I have had a standard fenix 6 solar that wont stop vibrating after a few years. No reply for my emails from garmin. Than i got a fenix 6 pro solar end of 2019, this one wont conect to any device now. I have tried linux , windows 10, windows 11. Sometimes its connecting but wont stay connected for more than a few seconds. Windows say that there is an issue with the device (device descriptor failed to read)  Its defenetly an internal issue with the usb controller chip that swithes data +/- polarity regards to the polarity, how cable polarity are inserted. Its an idiot design and way way more complicated than it needs to be. We have wifi and bt on board but they are dumbed down to the level of incredible silly. Cannot connect to it wirelessly, but you can get a forced update OTA.

    I have tried it in recovery, even installed that bloatware garmin connect again. No connection was made. (device descriptor request failed) . Garmin express was searching and not a clue what device i wanted to use it with.

    I dont want any other garmin device after this one, too expensive for the time it lasts. And the fact that you cannot set it up without internet is a big alarm for me. I will get something else. I was looking for a gt5 pro, they dont require me to constantly upload any metrics / telemetry plus you can set it up offline without active internet,just by using the phone app.

    Hello. Thank you for testing the BETA software. Since 28.00 is still BETA, it is still in its testing phase. If this is not working after the update, I would recommend reporting this to the BETA bug forum thread here: https://forums.garmin.com/beta-program/fenix-6-series/bug-reports/i/public-beta-27-xx

    If the update renders this unuseable, you are able to roll the software back to the previous full release 27.00. This will factory reset the watch. https://forums.garmin.com/beta-program/fenix-6-series/f/announcement/397712/beta-version-27-73---side-load-available

    I have downgraded it to 27.00 and as soon i set it up again in the garmin connect app it rebooted into update cog without prompting me so its back on 28.02 at this time. Still cannot connect this watch to any of my computers. I think i have had enough. This watch became useless to me as i cannot put the maps back onto it. USB conneted, USB disconnected every few seconds randomly. Sometimes its visible as a drive, but garmin express just still looking for a device. Even when its finds it about once out of 50 connection, the watch disconnects as soon i am trying to copy anything onto it or i do any operation in the file manager. Right click properties on media folder and poof watch disconnected suddenly.  If there is a way to wirelessly put mp3 music and maps onto it, This watch is dead as a dodo.

    Finished with garmin. got my new watch, and deleting my account if i can find the way.
