Fenix 6 Sapphire - stuck in boot loop (Blue Triangle)

Dear all,

my 4 year old Fenix 6 Sapphire froze on watch screen. I shut it down using Light (15s) and then it got stuck in the boot loop that has been discussed in other threads here as well. It shows only the blue triangle screen.

The following solutions did NOT work:

  • Back Button to reset: nothing
  • Start-Back-Down (Start to 1st beep, rest to second beep): Tried very very often, did not provide any change never heard any beeps.
  • Garmin Express: Finds the watch, but Shows Unit Id = 0 instead of serial number. Shows a message that it cannot connect to the Garmin server.
  • Garmin Webupdater: Finds the watch, Shows Unit Id = 0, assumes it has firmware 3.00. Starts an Update but responds with "Update file corrupted".

Located in Greece.

Any other things I could try?

  • Ok, I revived my Fenix 6x Pro in the following way:

Disclaimer: Do not try this solution if your warranty has not yet expired or there is something wrong with your watch. NO GUARANTEE FOR FUNCTIONALITY AFTER THE FOLLOWING REPAIR ATTEMPT - DO NOT MAKE THE FOLLOWING ATTEMPT IF YOU ARE UNDECISIVE - YOU ARE ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESULT - A TOTAL LOSS IS NOT RULED.

Introduction: I had problems starting my clock. It could only be booted with a cable connection; when the charging cable was removed, it switched off immediately. I also had a severe battery drain before.

Attempted solution: You take the watch and put it in the freezer at -18°C for a few (30?) minutes. Take the watch out again, let it thaw and plug it back into the power supply. It should boot normally and start up again - perhaps reset for several 30 seconds with the light button (top left) and reboot again.

RESULT: From then on the power supply came from the battery again. In addition, the response time when switching in the menus, widgets and apps has increased significantly. Battery consumption has also improved significantly, consumption approx. 6% in 24 hours (18 days predicted runtime).

The following thread gave me the idea:
