Fenix 6 turns off itself, now only starting with power cable connected

I have had my Fenix 6 Sapphire for some weeks now and more and more often, the watch turned itself off. This weekend, several times a day with battery >70%. Today, it got even worse and I could no longer turn it off. So I connected my charger cable, the watch started and showed 100% battery (cannot be right, haven't charged it since before the weekend). Once I disconnect the cable, it dies and it is not possible to start the watch again. Only with the power cable, it starts. I have tried both soft and hard reset and everything else I could come up with, without success. Anybody else has the same problem?

I am in contact by mail with the swedish Garmin support, but it is terrible slow, several days to get answers.

Looks like there is some bad soldering inside the watch, if the watch is warm, it does not seem to have any contact with the battery. That's why it dies and the charger thinks it is fully charged (battery not accepting any current). I cooled it down for a while and now it starts again and when I plugg in the charger, it starts charging at currently 67%, which sounds correct.

I guess I need to return to send it to Garmin to get a new one.

Yeah I just experienced this a couple days ago and I've literally only had this watch for a week. Sounds like a quality control issue. Was definitely a great experience till this happened. Hopefully the next one I get doesn't have the same issue! Thanks for sharing. Super informative.

Nothing is working, The battery shoes 100 %, I tried everything ! As soon as I remove the power source cable, the watch goes Off, It react like if inside there is not any battery !

Please bring a solution.... Thx

Hello, did you find a solution, I did follow the charging procedure during 2 hrs as garmin recommends but still the same problem, the watch turns off once I disconnect from the cable, I did also reset to factory settings with the same results

If you have already followed the steps in the Support Center article above and fully master reset your watch but the issues continue, then your watch will need to be warranty exchanged with your nearest regional Garmin Outdoor Product Support team. I am sorry you are having issues with your watch.

Same issue here too. Just got the Fenix 6 sapphire and when I went to turn it on nothing happened. I charged it to full and it turned on, but only when on the charger. searched for information but no dice. I will probably send the watch in for a new one with the lifetime warranty policy. Upgraded from a Garmin Instinct and issues have arisen. Garmin is good in all but could use a little more in terms of the start-up process.

I had the same issue. I contacted Garmin Support chat, and for this issue, they agreed to the warranty exchange.
