After recent update I've noticed a bug with incoming notifications.
Very often they simply "hang" - they do not appear in full screen, but overlap the watch face.

Update May 23, 2024:
Our engineering team has indicated this should now be resolved with the Public Software version 27.00.
I have a feeling that 26 is going to be the last firmware.
Our engineering team has confirmed that there will be new Beta phases and official software releases for the Fenix 6 series.
The…
Engineering is aware of the issue and it remains escalated with them to be resolved as soon as possible.
I do not experience that with my iPhone so I assume it does not affect everyone. Have you tried to reset your watch and start from scratch?
Now I'm convinced that this is my last smartwatch that I buy from Garmin. I'd rather buy something else next time, from someone who knows how to do a software.
If I'll be releasing hotfixes like that in my job, I'd get fired.
By the way, for various reasons I enabled notifications privacy, so the gesture is needed to show notification text. The issue affects this as well - for 1 out of 3 notifications, raising hand has no effect.
Came here to look for this issue! Mine started in the first km of New York marathon when the 'live track started' notification appeared as full screen on my watch face and I was terrified of turning it off and losing first few kms! Ever since then every single notification while I'm out running fills half of screen and I can't see the top fields on the face. I have to press the up/menu button to get it off. Sometimes when I'm not running a notification comes up with a symbol that's different to usual. I get so many notifications while I'm out running it's annoying!
This just started happening for me on 5 November (at the beginning of a marathon). Looks like it's been an issue for several months for some. Two months since your last post. When is it likely to be fixed?
After half a year, I've come to believe that the problem won't be fixed. I can't quantify it, but it seems to be getting worse each month. Now, I can confidently say that notifications on Fenix 6 don't work at all. This, along with another unresolved elevation issue (reported by many users), raises serious doubts about considering Garmin for my next purchase.
I had this issue as well in the past, but it has gone away since. I'm still on version 26.00 on my Fenix 6 Pro, but I did update the mobile app on Android, which I believe is what fixed the issue for me.
I doubt a mobile app update can resolve the watch notifications, but your response indicates the problem is fixable. It's frustrating that Garmin doesn't seem interested in identifying the root cause.
I would reach out to Garmin - Chris after the holidays and provide them with all relevant details, which is what I did. I understand it is frustrating when an expensive device starts experiencing software bugs, especially for something that used to work just fine. I personally had both some software and a hardware issue with my Garmin devices and I do appreciate their support. The hardware issue was resolved very very smoothly for myself. I've had two software issues resolved. Granted, another one is still outstanding, but I can live with it and I'm actually happy and hopeful to see that Garmin is still working on improvements for the Fenix 6 series at.
I did it about 6 months ago. I provided all the details, answered questions in a private chat, and also sent the log from Garmin Connect. In general, I am happy with Garmin support; I have had different issues with various watches in the past, and they were always resolved. However, with this one, I am really disappointed.
