Battery drain after 26.00

Automatically updated to version 26.00 mid week, now experiencing significant battery drain 2% per hour. Soft reset three times, no improvement. Charged to 100% yesterday at 2pm EST and now at 56%, at 11 EST … and only did a 5km run.

Before I could get 5-6 days per charger and that is with running 1 hour per day. Pulse OX always off, turned off ABC.

Looks like I’ll get 2 days per charge now … working perfect until 26.00

  • Now the battery has a normal duration

  • That doesn't seem great, I get 14 days with BT on and pulse-ox during sleep, 24+ with pulse-ox off. I've never even considered turning BT off.

  • Thanks but Mine is the 6pro model.

  • Anyone have a 25.79 firmware for Fenix 6s pro?

    Hi all,

is there any news regarding described battery consumption problem with Fenix 6 PRO after updating to V26.00. I am facing exactly same described problems with significant battery drain 2%-3% per hour.
Three weeks ago, before update to version 26.00, and for the same configuration/settings, normal battery life for a 100% charge was between 13-14 days. After the update, less than 36-40h maximum. Now, it is totally unuseful gadget with less than 2 days autonomy.

I am contacting with Spanish Garmin support, and they deny any software problem that generates this exceptional battery consumption. Even though I provided links to this forum where hundreds of users report the same problem. From Garmin, they only offer the alternative of sending the watch to the factory for "repair". Without any other explanation.
    Any comments or experiences?

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Hi! I’ve tried everything I’ve seen on internet and none of the tricks solve the problem

I’m using the watch in battery saving mode cause is the only way for not charging it every two days

  • You probably already tried it, but I've just had the exact same problem last couple of days and I did a soft reset (press and hold light button for 15 second) and it solved the problem.

  • Thanks for the suggestion, but that doesn't seem like the solution for a high end watch like this. Anyway, already thy that option, and didn't work for me.

  • Yes I did. I've already tried following steps:

    1. Garmin official suggestions, published in the official website to optimize battery to the max. Tested all of them.

    2. Soft reset

    3. Hard reset

None of them worked for me.

  • I have both an F6X and an Enduro running on the same sw.

I never had such an aggressive drain like >1% per hour in smartwatch mode, but I became unpleased when I realised that it happened with my watches to discharges the batteries to an extent of around double of the advertised one.

In case of Enduro I had no success with the usual advices, so I decided to fully discharge the battery and for me it worked. I did it 6-7 days ago, and since then I have been pleased. https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/enduro/351829/my-cruel-enduro-is-brutally-aggressive-in-juicing-battery

If somebody is desperate enough to take the risk of harming battery then he/she can repeat it.
