Battery drain after 26.00

Automatically updated to version 26.00 mid week, now experiencing significant battery drain 2% per hour. Soft reset three times, no improvement. Charged to 100% yesterday at 2pm EST and now at 56%, at 11 EST … and only did a 5km run.

Before I could get 5-6 days per charger and that is with running 1 hour per day. Pulse OX always off, turned off ABC.

Looks like I’ll get 2 days per charge now … working perfect until 26.00

  • I do not see my confirmation, may be due to Login after my answer, but

YES, after the 26th version update my watches power drops dramatically, and I do not use any unnecessary service, like oximeter, notification (mail, messages), nor wi-fi and continuously Bluetooth sync.

Hopefully not a drift for changing for a new modell, (save the World) , because I'm maximal content with the Fenix 6X Pro!

  • Same issue here. Auto updated to v26 and battery life has reduced from ~10 days to ~2days. Most settings you’d expect to drain battery were switched off and no widgets installed

  • Fenix 6X Pro here.

Amen. v26.00 is a poop show. My GPS accuracy fell off the table. I get repeated notifications, even if they've been dismissed. The interface is horribly slow.

And most of all: the battery drain is absolutely crazy. I use the Data Lovers watch face which is CPU-hungry, and before v26.00, I would do 2+ hours of workouts 6x weekly - 3 of which use GPS - and only have to charge twice monthly. With v26.00, I got less than two days.

I did the whole voodoo dance of fully charging it and rebooting it. I even did a factory reset and used a factory watch face. v26.00 is poison.

Doing a "clean install" reverting back to 25.10 made my life good again. I also disabled automatic updates so I don't get force-fed v26.00 again.

I'm hoping the next drop we see is a major version jump to 27 or at least something big like 26.50 and the first bullet point in the changelog is "Fixed battery drain issues."

Until then, I'm sticking with v25.10.

  • how did you manage to go back to version 25.10 (from where you downloaded the soft)

  • Yes, I've got the same issue with a 6s. I'll try and roll back the firmware if I can figure it out.

  • Same. I think something is wrong with the wrist heart rate monitor sensor. It no longer is picking up heart rate and the light on the sensor is extremely extremely bright.

  • And I've also discovered that I can't turn it off. My battery is now draining in a few hours. Never had problems before!!

  • I'm a data hoarder so I download every available version of the firmware and keep it on my server for occasions just like this.

A similar thing happened back when I had the Forerunner 920XT then again on my Fenix 5X. Occasionally, there are firmware releases that are just plain broken and I like having the safety net of archived firmware.

If the forums will let me, I can post a link to v25.10. Otherwise, you might have to DM me for it - not sure.

  • If you could post it on here that would be great. I'd love to see if that fixes the issues. If you can't post it here then if you could DM me a link that would be amazing! Thanks!

  • Same here- 100% charged when I went to bed, now 61% in the morning !! Never had that big of a drop! Restarted my watch in hopes it makes it through the day today!
