Is this kind of GPS drift acceptable?

Is this kind of GPS drift acceptable? I recently got the 6S Pro and this drift has been annoying me. I’ve tried all settings, GPS only, GPS + GLONASS, GPS + GALILEO, I’ve not seen much difference, the pace and distance seems to end up more or less correct though. I am running on that road. I’m thinking of returning it to Amazon while I still can

  • Thank you for the 6,003rd post on the Fenix GPS.

As has been discsused in the previous 6,002 posts, some people do not find the GPS performance of the Fenix 6 acceptable.  Biggest complaints seem to be watch doesn't track you exactly where you were, as per your diagrams.

The general consensus is there is no fix for this.  You can wear your watch a slightly different way (on your wrist so it's always pointing up when jogging) to get better, more accurate location.  For 95% of us, we don't notice this, or if we do, we don't care.  The accuracy is "good enough" for us.

For those people that want "perfect" GPS accuracy though, the F6 seems to dissapoint.  The common thought on the problem is the metal body seems to interfere with the GPS antenna enough.  A Forerunner seems to be more accurate.  Also the new F7 seems to get better GPS accuracy.

I really suggest you read the previous 6,002 posts on the subject, and then you can gauge if this slight inaccuracy is going to ruin your enjoyment of an otherwise excellent watch.

Until the 6,004th post about this next week, bye bye for now.
