Fenix 6s will not re-pair to phone

Hello - just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, because reaching out to support was not helpful

My fenix 6s lost connection to my phone after being in "low battery mode" and will not reconnect to any phone - Ive tried with my phone, and I borrowed another phone to see if it was a phone issue or a watch issue, it appears to be the watch

I've gone through all the trouble shooting steps in every possible order and nothings worked, I go to pair my device and it gets stuck at the "connecting your fenix 6s" screen on my phone and doesnt progress any further. Ive been trying for over a week now and can't get any more progress

  • I've removed the device from the connect app
  • removed the device from my bluetooth connections
  • turned bluetooth on and off
  • restarted my phone
  • updated the watch software with Garmin Express
  • made sure the connect app was up to date
  • Restarted the watch (soft reset)
  • Reset default settings on the watch
  • Tried connecting it to an entirely different phone

None of these have worked and the support person from garmin who contacted me just told me to do the same things I've already done

Any other trouble shooting tips anyone has I'm happy to hear them! I want to get my watch up and running again. See below where the progress stops when pairing my device

  • I've had oddly similar issues with my Fenix 6X pro. About a week ago I couldn't connect to my phone anymore (iPhone 12), so I also went through all the troubleshooting steps. I even performed a hard reset because I thought I was going crazy. Updated the app software, removed device from bluetooth list, tried with different phones...nothing. Seems the watch just doesn't want to pair with anything anymore.

And then after a week of randomly trying if it somehow miraculously would connect again, just now it paired again! I thought wow, ok, it's up and running again, sweet! But then 15 minutes later, after I had paired the phone, it wouldn't connect to my phone anymore.

What the f*** is this?? Bluetooth sensor broken? It sounds like a hardware problem but really? A bluetooth sensor that just stops working all of a sudden??

  • That sounds really similar to whats happening with mine! In my case it will send the six digit code to the watch so i know they're passing information and must be connecting by bluetooth somehow but won't actually pair with the phone.

  • I had this happen the other day. It drove me crazy. I finally got it to pair after turning the Bluetooth off on a different device that my watch had been connected to previously even though it was no longer paired. I had removed it in the Garmin connect app but the device still remembered it and it was getting in the way

  • Bluetooth off on a different device that my watch had been connected to previously

Yes. That was one of the tasks noted here - Android pairing issue
