Fenix 6 band comes off

I had just been presented with a Fenix 6X for my birthday in Nov 2021. I loved it and it was awesome as I trained for my Ironman and used it practically for all my sporting activities. Running, Biking, Swiming, Mtn. Biking, Surfing. Last weekend I lost my watch while surfing. The only reason i can see why it came off my wrist must be because of the clip on exchangeable bands. Has something like this reported before?

  • Hi - just bought a replacement strap for my Fennix 6S and it came off on the second day of use. Thought I hadn't attached properly but having reattached it made sure clips fully home it happened twice again. Its when pressure is applied to the strap at the end close to the watch it will just give way. Not wearing watch at moment waiting on another strap to see if any better.

  • Hi, lost mind last night whilst out on a boat. My wrist pressed against a fender and the watch unclipped and lost in the deep ocean... Gutted.

  • Hi, do you have a link for the non interchangeable bands

  • I'm interested as well. Mine has come off but was lucky enough to retrieve it.

  • Not really, mate, but I reckon you will find them easily.

The first Garmin, Fênix series always had the fixed bands. Needed to unscrew the pins, insert the pins within the band and srew it again.

Then they move to the clip ones, to get more money, selling different colours... merchandise... even if it was easier to us, to clip different ones rapidly.

If you do not find them, please, let me know and I will try to find some... I bit busy now to do a proper search.

    Best regards, RL

  • I have.  I lost an epix pro when I fell of a mountain bike.  Has to backtrack and luckily found it. Straps not safe enough for a £500- watch.
