On navigation, I've chosen to see slerts on "turn prompts" and not on "final distance", but the view I got is final distance ...
Any solution other than reset? And if reset - how deep it should be?
Thanks

Okay. Your friend has the same setting (follow course)? How did you both get the course onto the watch? (Via Garmin Connect, komoot, USB etc...)
Thank you so much Matthias.
Earlier I added the gpx file by dropping it in the "newfile" directory after connecting the watch to the computer.
He used garmin connect.
I've just tried his way …
Oh, you want them to delete from komoot. I thought you mean the other way around. It's too late now, but when connecting Garmin with komoot, you can set it to only sync in one direction. So only from komoot…
Are you sure your course contains turn prompts?
In the navigation settings of your activity, under 'routing', did you choose 'use map' or 'follow course'?
Yes, I'm sure the course has it as a friend with the same route file sees the turn prompts.
I use follow course.

I've just tried his way (after updating garmin connect ...) and it's work for me as well.
Glad I could help. There are so many things that can affect these turn promts...
Just be aware that Garmin connect adds the promts based on curvature of the course, and not based on intersections. So they will often not make sense.

When you send a route from Connect, it adds turn prompts which aren't in the original file. Gpx files can either contain a list of POIs or a course, not both.
Thanks for your comment.
So what is the best practice? Where to prepare the route and how to upload it?

My preference is Locus Map. It is one of the most powerful map apps for Android. Locus adds turn promts on intersections and you can delete or add turn promts on your own. There is a Garmin plugin and a Connect IQ App, with these you can send the course directly from Locus to your watch. There is a paid pro version, but basic stuff like route planning and sending to the watch work with the free version as well.
Many people use plotaroute.com, which also gives you full control of your turn promts. But i have never fully tested it. From there you can export a fit file and transfer to your watch via USB or via a 3rd party app like gimporter.
If you are a komoot user, you can also link your komoot account to your Garmin account and plan your routes in komoot. But i don't know if the turn promts are better than using Garmin Connect directly. But at least route planning is better in komoot than in Garmin Connect.
Tip: When you use USB to transfer a course, you will not get turn promts from gpx files. Only fit files can contain turn promts.
All of the above applies for the 'follow course' navigation setting. This setting uses the turn promts that are embedded in the course. You can also try the 'use map' option. There, the watch will re-calculate your whole route and generate the turn promts on its own. The advantage is that it will re-calculate the route when you leave it, just like a navigation device in a car. The disadvantage is, that it uses more battery and the re-calculation can take a long time.
Big Thanks.
