Instructions for installation are available below the change log on each of the above pages.

This update does bring in a modification to the software update process: If you load 20.42 to your device, disconnect, and choose to install later, it will delay the installation 2 hours and you will then get a prompt and a 30 second countdown. This process is only available if you are updating from 20.41 to 20.42.

20.42 Change Log Notes:

Improved robustness to nightly altitude calibration.
Fixed altitude flatline bug.
Fixed potential issue on device boot.

Sensor Hub: 11.01
ANT/BLE/BT (Pro models): 6.15
ANT/BLE (non-Pro models): 3.00
Wi-Fi (Pro models only): 2.60

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not compatible for APAC region devices.

Is there any news on the flat-spots on Altitude bug? I'm off for a run at about 7 so I guess I'll soon find out, just wondering if that's related to the "altitude calibration' bug mentioned.

Garmin_ODQA just as there's a number of different issues being reported and addressed I wonder would it be possible to get a little bit more detail than the change log provides to help beta testers verify the intended improvements in their testing?

Garmin_ODQA, hi Odsweng! What does the ANT/BLE/BT 6.15 do? I see that its compiled 2021-10-14 (between firmware 19.74 and 19.75) so its rather "old".

Did an upgrade to 20.42, did a soft restart, did a hard restart and the altitude shows 257 meters. Correct altitude is 65 meters... really good!

Did you restart and calibrate the altitude or just restart and check the altitude? I think the watch needs an altitude calibration after a restart. I'm not aware how it would calculate an altitude without a set point.
