No Wifi networks found

Hey,

I've already read a lot about the wifi problems with the fenix 6x pro.
I have tried everything to get a wifi network but nothing will work. When i installed my watch for the first time I connected to my network with no problem and downloaded my sportify playlist.
After some weeks it suddenly stoped connecting to wifi.

I turned off my 5ghz network and made only my 2.4ghz network available.
I have changed the password and removed it completely.
I have created a hotspot with my iphone but nothing seems to work.

In the end I also did a hard reset, so I had to reconfigure a lot + all devices that were connected to my 5ghz wifi signal had to connect again ..
I don't know what else I can try. Anyone else have an idea what I could try?

Hi,

You made many test but maybe :

- Do not hide your SSID

--- made is name simple like 'Tototiti1984'

- you can configure a pre-shared key WPA2, again simple text+number, 'TototititutuTata1984'

I do not disable 5GHz at home

It works for me with a similar configuration without issue on a ISP 802.11ac box, it also works connected to my iphone SE 2020 with a PSK using a special character. I also do a test with a linksys Velop MX4200 802.11ax and it's ok.

NOTE: Hidden networks are not compatible.

Hi socorsu thanks for your reply. It’s not working for me.. I contacted Garmin support on phone and they told me I probably will get a replacement watch.

There's no need for replacement, it's something related to the latest firmware udpate and a bug they have introduced. Myself as some others are facing a similar tissue. Mine have resolved by forcing the update via Garmin Express since it is still had the FW20.30 pending that was already installed. It might have reinstalled the FW and fix some of the problems.

What is your WiFi software version? Is it 655.35 by any chance?

the fact that the watch connect on the 2.4Ghz band does not mean you need or should turn off 5Ghz. let it active, but the watch will not use it. Wifi works on both frequencies at the same time, it is two hotspots in one. Device can connect to either one of them.

I don't know .... how do I find out.
My phone was on 20.30 ... I upgraded to beta hoping it will solve the issue but still the same

Nothing changed on home Wifi ... always worked fine - used it for updating Spotify playlist

On the watch go system -> about, then press down about 5 times until you see a page with the versions of gps, wi-fi, ciq, etc...
