Used calories + training effect

When I do my usual training suddenly my calories are rest level. 150 cal. In stead of 1600 kcal. Also my aerobe and anaerobe levels are non and I have no training minutes…..

But i do have the map, the spead, the hardrate, hight, temperature…..    seams like no calculation ?

  • I was recently updated to SW 19.2 and had the same problem.  Virtually no intensity mins, no training effect or load.  Very frustrating.  I was going to revert back to 16.7, however your watch will revert back to the default setting.  I decided to reload 19.2.  Downloaded it, put it in the correct folders and when it rebooted, everything seems to be back to normal.  I only did 1 indoor bike ride, but my numbers were very similar to 16.7.  Don’t know if it would work for you, but I don’t think it would make it worse.

  • same problem here.  Robertus, did the manual re-installation work for you ?

FYI a factory reset alone does not fix this issue

  • It did for 1 day then it reverted back. Only a temporary fix.

  • Same issue here, I just got back from my first bike ride after the 19.20 update, 0 everything and just rest level calorie burn.  I'll just use the mtb activity for now as that seems to still work ok.  I noticed it never prompted me for any precieved effort when saving, so it could be related to that?  Not sure if you're all using the run/swim/bike activities that were updated. I have a 6x sapphire.

  • I went for 2x MTB and 2x Bike, same issue, only the first time I had a fail message. Tomorrowmorning I will do cardio to see if this activity calculates properly; because all data of biking are stored fine..........to the extend that  Strava is doing the calculations my fenix 6X is failing to do.

  • I noticed it never prompted me for any precieved effort when saving,

Check your setting for that as you can choose between Always or Workouts only.

As for the rest discussion here - Load significantly less for similar effort activities since 19.10 update

  • I ran a couple of tests after just restarting the watch, powered off/on.  (I wish I ran a quick test to confirm the issue before I did this)

I jogged In place for 1-2 min to get my hr up and it showed a load of 1 and 0.1 areobic, which tells me it at least calculated something.  It did this on bike and mtb just fine.

Could either be temporarily fixed like Gashouse said or maybe it is a issue that triggers with a longer workout or some other variable?  Time will tell I suppose.

I did check out that other thread, it seems the load for them is still calculating and it might be a hr issue.   For our issue, no calculations are being done, everything is 0.

That self eval setting was set to workouts only for me.  I set it to always and then it prompted on my test ok.

  • I have noticed a similar issue. Some runs I did showed way low calories, but then now they are correct so something got fixed. Same with a rowing session I did.

This, however, is not fixed and is a good example.

Some stadium stairs I run nearby. This is in Phoenix hottest part of the day, I'm 245lbs. 881 calories (a few weeks ago) seems about right:

Same basic workout, more or less (floors never accurate on these for some reason) yesterday, 362 calories. Doesn't seem reasonable. It's like it thought I now weigh 120lbs or something, lol. I checked weight and it's still same setting so that's not it. In addition, it basically thought this was a slack-off recovery workout (it definitely wasn't, and in 105+ degree weather full sunlight) so it's telling me I better pick up the pace today (prior to this firmware, it would have 100% told me to rest the next day).

  • Ok the cardio went fine. Same figures as many times before including training effort and burned calories. Apart from several restarts I refreshed my android app, and set the percieved effort from workouts only to always. So far so good. Let’s see what MTB does and if the problem returns….
