Fenix 6X Pro No Wi-Fi Networks Found 16.60

Same as on 16.30, now on 16.60 Wi-Fi does not connect no matter what.

Garmin, can you please fix this, I can no longer use Music services.

After searching for Wi-Fi networks, and get the infamous "No Wi-Fi Networks Found" or the watch gets disconnected from the phone via bluetooth and need to restart the watch, or watch freezes with the wi-fi searching screen and also have to do a force restart of the watch.

Please fix asap.

  • Good news: if you turn off wifi on your phone, the watch goes back to behaving normally - other than the fact that you can't connect to wifi OR via USB to anything anymore - the watch will successfully pair with your phone and keep a consistent connection as well. I will keep you in the loop if I get any further on this issue. I really need to avoid sending it back for replacement (I live in a remote location).

  • I am really sorry you are both dealing with Wi-Fi issues. It is very frustrating and odds are your regional Product Support will need to replace your watch.

  • Thanks for the update, I use Spotify alot while running, but cannot use anymore. I can't see just sending the watch away is the only solution. Surely a fix of the firmware can sort it out. I've had it for a year with no issues until now. 

  • It is possible it will resolve with a future software update but it is hard to say in the early phases after v16.60 was just released. There is another Fenix 6 thread for watches not connecting to Garmin Express anymore. Please note, I am collecting information on that case to have that escalated to engineering.

  • Hi Chris. I am on 16.60 and don't seem to be having any noticeable issues. The battery might be draining a bit quick, but otherwise no wifi issues etc. Question, has Garmin now pulled the 16.60 update? Because I can't find it anymore (https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=15033). I was about to update my wife's F6sPro but after it kept saying that 15.20 was the latest I started digging and came across this forum. So Garmin is admitting there is problems with 16.60 seeing it isn't online anymore?

  • I wouldn't be surprised if it was pulled down, even temporarily. 

  • Hey Chris, thanks for letting me know about 16.60 being pulled. Regarding updating to the new version as my watch is not recognised anymore of my mac will the update get pushed through garmin connect on the app and get downloaded that way? 

  • This happened to my 6x after the 13.10 update. My watch was already out of warranty then. No wifi or USB connection since then. USB connection only showed a connected GPS device even when USB Mode is clearly set to MTP. I have been using bluetooth connection to my phone exclusively since then. Software does update through bluetooth from the Connect app (very very slowly) - I'm now on 16.60, but still no wifi or USB connection. Wifi version still says 655.35.

  • One option that worked for me (I am in the same boat as you currently). Download Garmin's webupdater utility, and connect your watch via the "GARMIN" USB mode (not MTP). My system recognized the watch instantly. Same system via USB/MTP and Garmin express never works.

  • That is a real shame that software can damage the watch this badly for long term. How long is the warranty for garmin watches? Hope the updated software can kick start it back. But I'm having my doubts.
