I would love a eSports profile on my fenix 6X Pro.

That's what the article says: You should exercise physically when you're into esports (not to be confused with "playing videogames" as that's for fun) to help your body cope with the stress / strain…
Yes I know, but I would like to be able to use the STR3AMUP! software with my Fenix 6. And that's currently only possible with the Instinct Esports watch. It shouldn't be that difficult to bring that functionality…
What C.sco said. It's about recording a gaming session en to be able to show heart rate and stress data on your live stream. Those who are not into gaming and/or esports will probably not (yet) understand :-)
"Professor Ingo Froböse, GSU study lead, was impressed with these results. He had never seen this type of physical strain result in any other sport. The study showed the amount of stress hormone, cortisol, going through the players during competition matched those of race car drivers. In addition, esports players also had heart rates around 160-180 beats per minute (which is like running a mile nearly as fast as you can!) Unfortunately, many esports players don’t realize the massive demands being placed on them, and therefore don’t train for competition in a professional manner. This can lead to many problems that could be easily be prevented with adequate exercise in the esports world."

I can't help but laugh out loud when I read that, even if it's true. "The physical strain of playing videogames"
Actually explains why we keep hearing about people dying of exhaustion during videogame tournaments.
Yet another reason to choose going outdoors and being active rather than sitting in a chair playing games! Don't mind me, I just will never understand videogames... carry on ;)
The Fenix can send heartrate via ANT, so if there is a receiving hardware for PC it would work.
That's what the article says: You should exercise physically when you're into esports (not to be confused with "playing videogames" as that's for fun) to help your body cope with the stress / strain of keeping your APM (actions per minute) high for long periods of time, for example. As far as I remember, there are players that average on 300 APM in a one hour match. I'm no expert, though. I like videogames, but I haven't followed current esports events since forever.
Can the Fenix broadcast stress data, though?
Yes I know, but I would like to be able to use the STR3AMUP! software with my Fenix 6. And that's currently only possible with the Instinct Esports watch. It shouldn't be that difficult to bring that functionality to the Fenix..
I would guess it's only a softare update to make it possible for the Fenix to send all kinds of data. But that's why the esports profile is needed..
And you're absolutely right with the rest of your reply. Esports is a very underestimated sport..
I completely understand your reaction, I have a difficult time explaining this to many people.
Esports is a sport, but those who don't know what's going on in that world will never understand ;-)
To be clear, I'm not an esport player. I just like gaming very much, as much as I love riding my race bike.
That's why I would love to use my Fenix for cycling AND gaming :-)
