How to reinstall 12.20 via Web Updater

After using the Web Updater and sequentially performing all the steps, pressing the Finish button and disconnecting the watch, I have no prompt about New soft install or any other massege... same after restart the watch? Is this the whole process or am I missing something ... GE is completely stopped in background!

I just reinstalled 12.20 via web updater. Had no issues. It's possible your AV may interfere with the process and some bloggers recommended turning AV off during the process. I didn't have to do this and…

Same here on 6x pro. I can see that it had downloaded a firmware file onto the watch, but it just deleted it rather than installing it, which isn't supposed to happen with web updater.

Finally I downgraded and then re-installed 12.20 using Garmin express

Very well ... the question remains, what is the point of Webupdater, provided that it obviously does not work!

It's a long-standing piece of software which has worked well for years, and it is transferring firmware. I've used it for reinstalling current releases on watches up to Fenix 5. I suspect it's something to do with the firmware file - deleting it like that means the watch looked at it and decided either it's not actually the right file for its hardware, or it's older than what is installed. I don't know whether webupdater firmware files should be flagged to say "install this even if it is the same version as your current software"; if so the problem might be there.

So I understand that this is a problem of Garmin with Webupdater and at the moment it is impossible to reinstall 12.20 via WU. Is that correct?

That's my opinion, yes. Which version do you have? Mine is a 6x. I have seen other people saying that they've successfully reinstalled 12.20 in this way and it has helped, but I think they had different versions which get different firmware files.

I'm not totally convinced it would help anyway; the 745 forum has a lot of people saying it hasn't worked since 3.0.

Mine is F6 Sapphire Titan... But i'm not sure about other successfully reinstalled 12.20 without doungrade.

6X Sapphire and have the same experience. It completes the Web Updater wizard and then nothing....
