Fenix6 @ Sauna / Spa / Wellness

Hello,

Let's begin: Are there concerns weiring the Fenix6 in a Sauna or Hamam?

I do not find any information about the max temperatures supported. So is it risky for the heath of my watch?

Are there cheaper Garmin watches which I should use and where I bother less when they break?

In fact I really like the feature "Body Battery" and I'd like to use it during wellness days where I suppose it should give me feedback about "recovering" or "draining" my personal battery. I have no idea how good this shall work by the way ;)

I would not be able to let a 600€ watch at the outside ot the sauna just waiting that me or someone else will walk away with it ;)

I've been many times in sauna with Fenix 5, 5+ and now 6. I'm from Finland and usually have sauna several times in a week. 80 ° c is a typical heat.

I have worn my F6 sapphire in the sauna multiple times and also in steam baths. No problems

I agree, the sauna has not bothered any of my watches. I have used in high temp and IR saunas with no issues with F3, f5x+, f6x solar and FR935/945. 100’s of uses with HRM-Tri and Tempe, no issues for all. I created an app for Sauna use, Yoga+ supports Hot Yoga and Sauna sessions.

This shows that people are pretty different. In a sauna I want quietly relax and think about nothing, but only feel my body and feel well. I won't bother with my HR, body battery or something else.

Of course there is an exception, if someone train for the Ironman energy lab in Kona ;D

Maybe the watch and chest strap are not damaged by the temperature. But what's about the skin? Usually in a sauna (110°C with infusion) metallic things like necklaces or watches with stainless steel back heat up and burn the skin.

You said you couldn't find any info on the subject. It's in the manual and a simple internet search will answer your question. As Philipshambrook posted 3 days ago, Garmin says the max storage and operating temperature is 45C for normal operation. The range is - 20 to 45C. You have your answer and it's your choice to do what you wish with your watch based on that information or what others have posted with their personal experiences. I find it hard to believe that Garmin pulled the max temperature out of their hat. The seals, adhesives, etc. may withstand higher temperatures, but the metrics the watch provides may be erroneous once 45C is exceeded.

Does the garmin stress app evaluate your apps readings from sauna In any way? I was bathing In very Hot water and saw my stress readings were very high at the time. I was thinking is it better to take off the clock if I want the app to show me information on my recovery and sauna or Hot bath causes it to think Im adding stress when Im doing the opposite.

The question was about wether it is Ok to wear in a Sauna or not. It was not asking about advantage/disadvantages of wearing a watch in the Sauna.

Hello,

the specs dont allow sauna but I take the risk.

I think the temp is not that bad but the tempshock when going into icebath after sauna.

I am doing it several times a week for one year and no probs so far.

If you look at temp reading on your watch it seldom goes above 4ty some degrees Celsius.

Your body cools the watch down.
