Tactix Delta screen is blue without backlight

At some daylight angles my Tactix Delta screen background becomes blueish.

Not when turning on the backlight. In the dark with backlight it actually looks very black and good.

I am not sure what causes it and if it's the same for everyone. Can someone else with the Delta confirm?

The Garmin support rep on chat told me it's OK this way but wasn't able to explain why that is the case.

  • happy to hear that you also notice that, because it means it's not my unit that is defected.

for me this angle is simply the angle my wrist is naturally in when I am typing on my keyboard, and the light from the outside hits the watch. I can still clearly see the screen but the background is blue.

It's a non issue, it has zero effect on the working of the watch,

This is the standard speech of Garmin customer support employees that's how they are trained you can spot this easily DanH

How does it impact on your watch use?

AJR, I have to completely disagree with you on this whole blue/purple screen problem.  It is extremely well documented that there is a wide variety of quality issues with Garmin on this.  Many people have returned their Blue screens and finally end up with a nice screen, proper blacks and colors.

It is unfathomable to think that someone should just accept a mediocre screen on a watch of this cost.  It's just giving companies like Garmin a green light to pawn off subpar parts to consumers.

This person should swap out the watch until he/she gets one with a nice black screen and proper color saturation.

Your argument is not valid because others do not have this problem.  I've seen the differences myself and would NEVER accept one of Garmin's Blue display ones.  It completely ruins the experience of having a premium watch.

  • But other people here with the tactix say they do experience the same as well...

    and some say they don't.

  • So each and everyone saying that is working for Garmin?
I am not sure if they do have control over this, and their support told me they do not replace for this type of issue becuase the next one I get can be exactly the same.
It's a known manufacturing thing that is not considered as covered for replacement.

  • I have one that has a blue tint. Never affected my usage whatsoever...

  • Oh here we go.. Deviate from the group speak and here comes the same old accusation LOL

because for them it's not a problem, they doesn't understand that you don't like it it was before exactly the same problem with the screen contrast some people receive beautiful black contrast screen and some washout pinkish screens an answer from Garmin was

It's a non issue, it has zero effect on the working of the watch, That’s how they make it

This is the standard response from Garmin employees to any problem and if you will insist on this forum, they will remove your post from forum this is not first time like this.

    1. I have voted you up. I just hate pack's behavior and assumptions.

Got a sapphire titanium Fenix 6. Not blue tint when tilted.
I like blue tint on my Casio Gulfmaster and my Tissot. It makes me remember it is a sapphire.
I cannot get that tint easily in the sun...
But I use to have it on my old 5X.
You should really sent it back to Garmin. My two cents.
  • How people which are happy with their purchase could "always" been Garmin's stockholders ?

Is this a generational issue to be so dumb with smart watches ?

This forum is a nagging center with "truth will prevail" and "I believe then I'm right" behavior all through and through.

You are not happy ? Send it back get a refund and BASTA !
Unless you got an agenda against that brand.
