Hi all

The OHR lights/sensors are encased in an epoxy resin - perhaps you have an allergy to that?
The other possibility is that the sensor protrusion is irritating your skin.
You could try putting a small piece…
Yeah, the LED energy levels are nowhere near enough to be problematic - that is almost certainly either a bacterial/fungal issue or an epoxy allergy
There are two rectangular shaped leds so if that is a burn, why shape is circular and much bigger than actual led-lights?
I have worn a 735xt for years and when I switched to a 945 two weeks ago I got the exact same mark. The sensor on the 735 protrudes quite a bit more than the 945, and I have worn the 945 looser while the band is breaking in, so neither of those are the issue. The mark only lasted about 2 days and then went away with no changes in what I was doing. My guess is it was a chemical burn from some residual nastiness that was a product of manufacturing/assembly and it has since washed away.
I have same issue. Had fenix 5 for years and was wearing it 24/7 without issue. The only thing I have changed on fenix 5 was wristband. On fenix 6 I am using original wrist band and wristband does not cause issues only HR monitor. I suspect that on some stage garmin moved to different supplyer for hr cover and it is now causing issues for some. Without using mass spectrometer I would not be able too tell if that is true or not. What is interesting that I did small test couple weeks ago. Was wearing f5 for almost 2 weeks and no issue. Just started to wear f6 and I start seeing red marks on my skin in 2 days. This is strange. I am really worried and want to check if chemical consistency is same for both f5 and f6 watches. Or does Garmin have some issues with this on batch of the watches.
When you got your f5 I suspect that this started happening in most recent models. I know that someone mentioned f3 too bot not sure. The only thing that still needs explanation why I am not getting this on my F5 only getting this on f6
It's normal to have it. It's rubbing and pushing against your skin constantly and irritating it. Just switch the hands over night and take it out during a shower to wash your wrist and the watch. And don't wear it so snug that it's not moving at all on your hand. It's should be snug but not that it's pressuring your capillaries.
So you are saying that most of the people who wears watches should have it. The mater of fact most people who wear any bracket would have it.
When I am not in gym I am wearing my F5 or f6 very loose and when In gym tinghen it up. Wash it in the morning. When after gym and in the evening. Had f5 for 3 years like that and not a problem started using f6 and I 2 weeks hawking this problem.
As Ientioned have my F5 still and.did test where for mor than 2 weeks used it without problem. After switched back to f6 and rash or whatever you call it in few days. That is why I am suspicious. Knowing that is not widely spread problem I suspect that it is related to specific supplier sensor cover or some batch issues. This my speculations only and I do not have any proof yet. I want to do chem analysis to check if material on my F5 is same as f6 if it is I have no logical explanation.
Actually yes. You have to consider all aspects. The weight of the watch is different (it's a lot less) and so it doesn't actually move to let some blood there. Also the size of the bump is different-when i look at my hand from the front the only thing that is touching my skin is the bump (with FX5 this is not the case). It's collecting a lot more moist under it. And yes... I've had such red circles on normal watches that has some kind of a bump on the metal plate and wear it tight. You cant really compare two different kind of watches since the weight distribution, the size and the strap holes are on totaly different measure - you may feel it the same "snugness" but it may be a little bit more or less. Here is a pic of mine now. I had it really snug and you can see the actual skin deformed around the red. If I remove it for sometime and wash my hand there it will dissapear....
Interesting point of view. I have tried to wear f6 more loose than I usually wear f5. Did not help a lot. Still will do scientific experiment when I will get back to lab to prove or disprove my theory abuot material differences.
Probably it will be few weeks or moths with all the lock down still going on.
