My Fenix 6 locks up on the charging screen every time I charge it. When I unplug it from the computer, it justs shows the current charging level (ie 82%). I have to soft reset it each time.

I had this happen as well. It also locked up at random and multiple times throughout the day. I factory reset the watch which caused it to lock up every time it tried to re sync. I reached out to Garmin and they suggested it may need to be returned (and suggested returning to store for quicker replacement). I did yesterday and it no longer seems to be having any issue.... I'm surprised Garmin is having a quality control process this poor on such a high cost device. I suspect this will damage their reputation with users and hurt their bottom line. If your situation is similar I'd return it as it's likely defective, perhaps a defective batch in manufacturing. I'll be updating my post at the end of the week if the replacement did indeed resolve the issue. I'd also contact their customer support to see if they have any new suggestions.

I read your post. What surprises me is that you deemed your problem (and the similar problem the OP stated) as a poor quality control issue and that you think their reputation and bottom line will be affected. If this is all it takes, how does any business survive?
I'll shorten my three paragraph response and say - I hope it isn't because we all like Garmin (I'm assuming). My device was defective according to Garmin after troubleshooting and I was told to either return to the store or Garmin service.
But defective devices shouldn't reach the end user. Yes there will always be a few. If a lot do it will hurt the brand and reputation. This will hurt their bottom line in the long run but the cost of the returns will hurt it in the short term. Judging by a lot of these posts it looks like a lot of bad devices are reaching end users - but hopefully this isn't the case. Businesses survive by brand loyalty & good quality control, ensuring customers the best possibly experiences.
Hi - is this still a problem? I have a new Fenix 6 bought 2022 and having the same problems?
Mine sometimes does this if I charge via my laptop but never if I charge via a USB charger.
So I suspect the lock up occurs when the Fenix 6 is presenting itself as a USB drive and exposing its file system
