Aftershokz Aeropex
I tried running with the 65t, but because they create a seal in my ears (which is a good thing to block out sound during a noisy commute) I find I cannot run with them. All I hear is my feet pounding the…
Also Aftershokz Aeropex for me! Nice and safe to also hear ambient sound of traffic and sounds of nature while listening to music!
I can’t work out how to vote, but my Powerbeats Pro’s have been excellent. Minimal wind noise, good sound and solid connection. I’ve only used them a couple of times with a Garmin mind you, but the experience was fine. Not perfect, compared to an Apple Watch, but very good.
Edit: the voting option just appeared, so I voted too!
Cheap Chinese from Aliexpress :-)
Sound good enough for me and not afraid if they're lost
But don't they sound like crap?
Jabra 75t get my vote as well. They have the option to allow some sound in from outside as well, called "Hear thru" you can turn that off too. I love these!
If you run outside where there is other traffic only really safe ones are Aftershokz or similar bone conduction headphones (although not technically true wireless). I have tried several different ones but it bothers me that I can't hear other runners footsteps or bikers shouting that they are about to pass. It just is information that should not be ignored for safety. With Aftershokz I have been running with music now and love it. May sound like a promotion but I did pay hard money on my device and have 0 affiliation with them.
In the Gym I have used other headphones too as you might really want to block out the crappy gym music or other noises out. I have mostly used Bose Soundsport free lately in the Gym.
For me they sound good enough. The problem with the "better" headphones is that you can't hear the environment. So the volume needs to be too low and the sound quality suffers. I have a better sounding pair (or two) that I use when I am not running outside and I do not need to worry about other traffic.
Regular version. The active hasn’t been released yet.
But can you still enjoy music while being in a loud crowd with these? I kind of want to listen to my music but also need an ear out for danger, at the moment I'm thinking about using just one ear and keeping the other free.
It comes down to what enjoy means to you. I'm happy with mine given the compromise I'm making with my safety. I'd rather be safe and take a hit in audio quality than compromise the other way. That being said I only have the Airs. The new aeropex model should be better in the sound quality. The louder the surrounding noise is the more it interferes with the music, but the music is usually still audible because its conducted via the bones. If I need to kill the surrounding sounds (when not running or cycling) I will just use my noise cancelling headphones.
i use Tao Tronics (30€) https://amzn.to/2UoUXNE
