Hi!
Got my new Fenix 6 sapphire today but it wont connect to my phone or computer, also tested my girlfriends Iphone but no luck there either.
On my phone its starts to connecting with Garmin connect and I enter the 6-digit code but shortly after it fails.
I plugged it to my computer and though I maybe need to update the firmware but there is says the it cant connect to the servers.
I have restarted both my phone and garmin, factory reset my fenix, cleared cache on my samsung s10e and everything I found on Internet, it wont work.
Hope anyone can understand this English and could help.

  • Same problem with pairing my new Fenix 6 PRO with mobile phone - Android nor iPhone does not pair. It always looks the same way. After entering a PIN, there is a message "fenix 6 paired" on mobile phone and in the same time the circle starts spinning on the watch. However spinning circle stops spinning after few seconds and watch freezes. There is one way to continue, hold the light button to restart watch and start the whole procedure again with the same result.

I tried to connect watch to computer to Garmin Express installed on both Windows 10 and MacbookPro (with AndroidTransferFiles application installed). The watches was not discovered by Garmin Express on any of these platforms and no matter what mode was set on USB port MTP or Garmin.

I wonder how I will make a software update in my watch without connection to phone or notebook.

    Shame on Garmin ;-(

  • You've got a problem? Have you contacted Garmin Support?

  • No I don't. After few years with xiaomi bands and apple watches I thought that pairing devices is a common thing to all electronics companies. I'm really thinking if it's not safer for me to return it back even that watches dashboars is really great. It seems to me strange that Garmin did't fix the problem for such a long time, it points to not software problem only, there should some hw design problem, otherwise it would be fixed in few days.

As of April 19th 2020, with a Garmin fenix 6s Pro sapphire, and an iPhone xs, this is still an issue. Watch looses connection to the iPhone after a few hours and I have to go through process of restarting everything again only to have it disconnect a few hour later.

When it disconnects it’s not just your activities that won’t sync, it’s losing everything else that you rely on that sucks. Text notifications fb. Phone calls. Weather data. Everything. It’s an $800 Casio.

+1 for above post.  Same issue with my 6x and iPhone.  Have to remove it completely and re pair as if it was new out of the box frequently.

  • This thread is for an old issue that was long ago resolved and not related to general BT troubleshooting. I am locking this thread to avoid confusion. I apologize for not doing it sooner.

If you continue to experience any issues with Bluetooth pairing and/or connectivity, please be sure to reach out to Product Support to be assisted further if the Support Center Bluetooth troubleshooting articles do not resolve the issue.
