Hi!
Got my new Fenix 6 sapphire today but it wont connect to my phone or computer, also tested my girlfriends Iphone but no luck there either.
On my phone its starts to connecting with Garmin connect and I enter the 6-digit code but shortly after it fails.
I plugged it to my computer and though I maybe need to update the firmware but there is says the it cant connect to the servers.
I have restarted both my phone and garmin, factory reset my fenix, cleared cache on my samsung s10e and everything I found on Internet, it wont work.
Hope anyone can understand this English and could help.

  • This is normal. Warming up a little helps and you need a good screwdriver.

Lubricating them would make them prone to loosing...

I bought this watch to help me in the field this week on a military exsersize. Not going to be much help now is it sence I wont be able to up date for some reason when I go to maps it thinks I'm at the garmin factory in Kansas. Probably will return this as its useless. Not very happy spending 1000$ on a watch with no use when I needed it

I don't think it will be a big loss. How many people are affected? 20? How many will return their watches? 1-2? And those watches will be Sold again.

No loss for Garmin. Therefore they will never set up a 24/7 support.

  • Thanks for this update Chris.

Is it a joke, what year is it, 1930? Many users are affected by this problem and these people are paying 1000usd+ not to have these kind of issues. Yes, technical problems may occur, but a brand like Garmin should be reacting in a much better fashion than this. I am thinking of returning my gf6, at least 5 people around me is thinking not to go with garmin again, due to data loss over this issue. So, yes, garmin may not suffer from returning watches, but they will suffer from the spreaded words

Garmin seems to have problems with bluetooth connectivity again and again. I had the same problem with Fenix 5.

I really hope to have this fixed asap. I'm not the only one saying "this is a 800€ watch, how come it is not working (again)!".

    Hi,

I do unterstand, that you and others are not happy. I'm also affected by the problem and I'm not happy as well.

The problem came up on friday, today is monday. There have not been a single working day in between.

When you set up a 24/7 support (or backup system), you have to calculate the cost against income or possible loss. I still do not see a big loss for Garmin. Even if you and your friends switsh to suunto or another company. They have all the same problems.

The problem accurs, if you want to pair the Fenix 6 with your Phone (as I understood). That happens when you have a new watch or restartert the phone (as I did). How many people can be affected here? I guess 20. (May be absolutly wrong). How many will return their watches? Even if Garmin get's a return of 20 watches, that's not a loss compared to the costs of a 24/7 support system with developers working night and day.

I'm sorry, but I just want to make clear, why even big companys will not have such a support system for a watch. It's not a live saving device, it's a toy. And you can also use it without being paired with your phone.

Compare it with other things, that break down, your care, your TV, ... In most cases you do not get an instant repair.

  • By the looks of it, everyone with a Fenix 6 Pro is affected.

  • Hi,

One question regarding same issue. As probably most of us I factory resetted my watch so all data is gone. But I see all my data in my account when I sign in. When this issue will be solved and I will sync my watch with that account will that data be deleted from account or I just won't be able to see it in the watch?

Tried the same as you :( Even tried downgrading to previous iOS app version, issue persisted.
