Hi guys,
long story short, i have documented an extensive 3-way test of few watches back in this thread:
https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivoactive-4-series/196306/new-va4---live-review
From my findings, the VA4 and Venu suffer from a strange bug (among others) reg. pool swimming:
https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivoactive-4-series/196306/new-va4---live-review/960595#960595
- if you start swimming breaststroke, nothing is recorded
- if you switch to front crawl, it detects the crawl
(example: 10 laps: first 4 breaststroke not detected, last 6 crawl detected)
- if you start swimming crawl, it detects
- if you switch to breaststroke, it detects!
(example: 10 laps: first 4 crawl detected, last 6 breaststroke detected)
Detection issue is not limited to a single device, because i had the same both with Vivoactive 4 and with a Venu. Same SW 3.50 at the time.
Detection issue is not due to my stroke style, because it picks up after starting with freestyle
Can anyone with a Fenix pls. test and try to repro this? Thx.
