blister and skin irritation from Fenix 6

I bought a Fenix 6 about 2 weeks ago.  After about a week I had a red irritation on my wrist beneath the right side of where the watch sits on my wrist (opposite side of charger).  About 3 days later I had a blister on my wrist beneath where the HRM would rest.  I worked out a couple of times and worked up a moderate sweat wearing the watch and rinsed the watch off with water after each time.  I don't wear the watch when I shower or sleep.  Anyone else having this issue or any idea why I am?

Oh ha yes it has that I was literally looking for the words stainless steel I saw the bunch of numbers that didn’t make any sense ok so not the metal of the back I wonder if the screws buttons or charging contacts are made of anything different as my sore patches line up with those things although the button is on the side it does touch my skin when my wrist is bent alternatively there are two screws under that particular button! It remains a mystery! All I know is I did not suffer at all with this when I wore my trusty 735 :(

  • same problem here. I am generally not very sensitive and have no pronounced allergies. never had a problem with a watch band.

Just came across your post. I am suffering from a very similar rash from my new Fenix 6x. Has anyone developed a solution yet. Is an expensive watch and hate not to use it.

  • From above :)

In an older thread about skin irritation, said this:

"Any user experiencing skin irritation of any kind should reach out to us directly via support.garmin.com for assistance. We will gladly work with you to find the quickest and most suitable resolution."

I had every iteration of fenix and wore them 24/7 on the same wrist without issue. I wash them everyday prior to going in the shower.

My issue started when I bought my first titanium model (Marq Expedition) and continued when I purchased the 6X Pro Solar.

To fix the issue, I started wearing the watch on my right arm when I was sleeping and I sprayed my arm with a sensitive anti-perspirant before wearing the watch. The rash disappeared, never to be seen again.

Since moving back to the DLC Stainless Steel of the Tactix Delta, I can again wear it 24/7 on the same arm without issue.

Do you have a nickel allergy? Garmin confirmed to me that there is 16% nickel in the metal of these watches and I think that is what gives me a rash. I never had a problem with the 735xt even though I wore it the same as I do the 6s the 735 was plastic!
