Can anyone comment on the Fenix 6x GPS accuracy whilst Open Water Swimming. I swim Front Crawl continually.

I don't want to have to tow my watch whilst OW swimming, to gain GPS accuracy, id rather wear it on my wrist to measure other personal metrics
I don't mind if its a few meters inaccurate, but the Fenix 5x accuracy is v poor, often reporting me in the middle of the lake (nearly accurate) one moment then on land the next, therefore having no overall accuracy of distance/course swam. Any Fenix 6x experiences please in this matter.

I have Fenix 6s for a couple of months. Definitely an improvement from Fenix 5 in OWS tracking accuracy. However I noticed that in some instances it heavily overestimates distance. Looking back I believe this correlates with cloudy skies, aka GPS inaccuracies are calculated as wobble. Garmin should think including some-kind smoothing filter for their OWS GPS tracks.

One odd thing I noticed: distance is increasing whilst NOT moving (having a break)

So total distance is much to high: 614m shown on watch, less than 500m measured with google maps.

Same issue here, my swim distance is always 400 500 mt more than others (i swim with a squad) everyone else has a discrepancy of 100/150 meters. I'm the only one that has too much of difference.

Just wondering what can be done to avoid such a big addition of meters to the final distance.

I have this problem also with version 11.10 and GPS 4.50. Analyzing the points of the track, two or three appear with the coordinates 0.00000 in longitude and latitude. It happens when I stop to rest. The rest of the track is quite good (in my case GPS + GALILEO much better than GPS + GLONASS)
In the last week I have swum 3 times with those points at 0.00000

With version 10.10 and GPS 4.40 it did not happen

Same here, swam all the way through Africa. However, this drawing error only appears on the watch while Garmin Connect has it filtered out.

No. It is in Garmin Connect as well
